又到了第四季，許多外商都要寫self-review，或進行performance review。這份報告不只是例行公事，更是讓主管看見價值、爭取升遷加薪的好機會。

但挑戰往往不在於「沒有貢獻」可寫，而是如何用英文表達得專業又自然。稍一疏忽，就會掉進中式英文的陷阱。

Fanny是一家科技公司的專案經理，在self-review報告裡她寫下：

I am very confidence that I complete all my tasks very hardly. I always discuss about the project with my teammates. Sometimes I help my supervisor to growth.

看起來是英文，但其實錯誤連連，而這些錯誤，正是職場人士最常犯的幾個。

錯誤1：搞混形容詞和名詞

我很有把握／很有信心⋯

（Ｘ）I am very confidence…
（Ｏ）I am very confident…

Confidence是名詞「信心」，Confident才是形容詞「有信心的」。

錯誤2：誤用副詞

我很努力完成了所有的任務。

（Ｘ）I complete all my tasks very hardly.
（Ｏ）I worked very hard to complete my tasks. 

第一個寫法會讓意思變成「我幾乎沒有完成任何任務」，因為hardly在英文裡是「幾乎不」的意思。

錯誤3：多餘的介系詞

我經常和團隊討論專案。

（Ｘ）I always discuss about the project with my teammates.
（Ｏ）I always discuss the project with my teammates.

Discuss已經包含「討論」的意思，不需要再加about。

錯誤4：動詞用錯場合

（Ｘ）I help my supervisor to growth.
（Ｏ）I support my supervisor with reports and coordination.
（Ｏ）I help my team grow by improving efficiency.

首先，growth是名詞，應該用動詞grow。但就算改成I help my supervisor to grow，在語境裡仍不自然，因為主管通常不會被表述為「成長」。

怎麼寫才好呢？

修正這些錯誤後，Fanny的自評會是這樣：

I am very confident that I worked hard to complete all my tasks this year. I consistently discuss project issues with my teammates to ensure alignment. I support my supervisor by preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and helping the team grow by improving efficiency. I am proud of the contributions I made and the goals I achieved.

同樣的內容，換成正確又專業的英文，主管讀起來感受完全不同。

在績效考核裡，英文不是裝飾，而是展現專業的方式。避免中文直翻，用字要精準、正確，你的努力才能被看見。記得少用模糊的help，多用support、contribute、achieve、streamline這類職場常用動詞。
