用英文在討論投資或股市時，我們會習慣性的從中文直譯，句子不僅會顯得生硬，有時甚至會產生誤解。下文整理常見的錯誤表達，提供更專業、更自然的說法，幫助你在國際投資圈更流暢的交流。
這支股票最近漲很多。
（Ｘ）This stock rises very much recently.
（Ｏ）This stock has surged recently.
Rise是上升沒錯，但recently基本上要搭配過去式或完成式，漲很多用rise very much是直譯，股市大漲若用surge（飆升）表達出較大幅度的上漲。
股市今天大跌了800點。
（Ｘ）The stock market down 800 points today.
（Ｏ）The stock market plunged 800 points today.
Down是副詞，下跌的動詞可以用drop或fall；要表現出大幅下跌，則可以用plunge，這個字帶有較強的負面情緒。
這支股票最近漲跌很大。
（Ｘ）This stock moves a lot recently.
（Ｏ）This stock has been very volatile lately.
Move a lot是直譯的中式英文，而在投資術語中，volatile（波動劇烈的）更能準確描述，特別適用於股價起伏較大的情況。
我長期投資這支股票。
（Ｘ）I invest in this stock for a long time.
（Ｏ）I am holding this stock for the long term.
中文講長期投資，真正的意思是長期持有，用invest in this stock for a long time不太自然，應改為holding this stock for the long term。這是投資領域常見的表達。
這家公司很賺錢。
（Ｘ）This company earns a lot of money.
（Ｏ）This company is highly profitable.
Earn a lot of money聽起來像是個人收入，profitable（獲利的、有益的）才是表達財務的專業方式。
現在很多人進場。
（Ｘ）A lot of people are entering to the market now.
（Ｏ）There is a lot of buying pressure in the market right now.
Enter不可和to連用，enter本身有進入的意思，不需要再加to。但這裡用entering the market，在投資用語中也不常見；buying pressure更符合股市交易的表達方式，意思是買盤壓力大。
股價太高了，現在買進太危險。
（Ｘ）The stock price is too high. Buying now is too dangerous.
（Ｏ）The stock is overvalued. It’s risky to buy at this level.
Risky和dangerous這兩字很容易混淆。Risky是指強調風險、可能發生不好的結果，通常用於機率性的風險，例如投資、決策、計畫等。
Dangerous強調直接的、即時的危險，指會立即導致傷害、受傷或死亡的情況，多用來形容物理上的危險，如危險的動物、場所、行為等。股市裡的風險用risky比較合適。
這支股票表現得很好。
（Ｘ）This stock’s performance is very good.
（Ｏ）This stock has been outperforming the market.
This stock’s performance is very good這句話雖然文法正確，但在商業或財經英語中，通常不會這樣表達。Outperforming the market是更具專業性的表達方式，意思是表現贏過大盤。
